Stay in medieval Palaces, which have been turned into hotels. The mighty Maharajas (Kings) of Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner built their beautiful palaces,  cities, and fortified it to protect it against foreign invasions. They constructed the huge palaces with hundreds of rooms and each room served different purposes with full comforts such as summer or winter use, for dance & theatre, for romance, etc.

These Palaces were built with fine raw material brought all the way from different parts of the world. Glass & tiles came from Europe & Asia. The entire decoration is done with Gold, Diamonds, precious & semi-precious stones & fine mural painting.  The remaining assumes the luxuries & comfort lives of the Maharajas who lived with their wives, concubines (which could number couple of hundreds) nobles, musicians, & entertainers for many centuries.

Now these Palaces, Forts, Fortresses (most of them in ruins) echo those past eras of valour, power, & achievements of the Maharajas & Rajas. That is why it is called “ Rajasthan “ or country of Kings.
